1 Thessalonians 5:18
I am writing this to let everyone know about an opportunity I have recently been blessed to take part in. (and so that I don't have to explain it to everyone who asks) Towards the end of my senior year last year I had to make a big decision about what I wanted to do after I graduated. After extensive prayer I felt that God was telling me to participate in a Discipleship Training School with a program called YWAM (Youth with a Mission). The discipleship training school is a six month program that has two different phases. The first is a ‘lecture phase’ where I will be going through an intensive training process designed to develop character and a deep intimacy with God. The second part is the ‘outreach phase’ where we will take everything we have learned from our training and apply it on a 2 month mission trip. The lecture phase will be held at a YWAM base on Kona, Hawaii. Hard life I know right?! But I chose this location because I feel like I will be able to connect with the Lord on a different level by admiring this beautiful island he has created.
Shortly after arriving in Kona, the destination of the mission trip will be decided upon. Each discipleship training school has a specific theme that goes along with it so it allows students to choose something they are very interested in. The school I am attending has a theme of ‘island adventure’ so some of the potential destinations for this outreach phase will be along remote areas near waterways such as the Amazon River, the Sea of Cortez around the Baja Peninsula, the massive rivers and delta region of Papua New Guinea, the Caribbean Sea, Europe and the Pacific. We will be working on board vessels to reach these remote areas near the water. I will be sure to keep you updated as to where God descided to send me!
The main goal YWAM has for it students is to know God and to make Him known, and I am very excited to grow in my relationship with Him and to make Him known to others

Yay! Miranda I am so glad that you are following God's prompting and taking off on an adventure to deepen your relationship with him! Your growth in that time period is going to be insane and I'm sure you will be used to bless a lot of people both in Kona and on your outreach.
